Automated labelling:

Also, it manages data encryption and sharing of information inside and outside an organisation. Microsoft is likely to offer Office 365 sensitivity labels to Office 365 groups. This will help SharePoint in various ways:
Auto-classify with Sensitivity Labels: Initially, labelling was manual but the recent update makes it more happening to sense sensitive information in SharePoint and automatically label it. This is great as the AI engine recognises the sensitive information and label the files as sensitive information even if the users forget to do so. In order to enable this feature, users are required to create a relevant policy in Microsoft 365 compliance centre and choose rules as a result of which the sensitivity of files will be automatically analysed by the engine.
Index Protected Content: Prior to the recent update, SharePoint could only index a labelled document’s metadata and not it’s content. But the new update enables SharePoint to index labelled document content that is encrypted using security labels with an Office 365 app. Users who possess relevant permissions can easily search SharePoint sites for this content. Also, labelled documents that are downloaded from SharePoint stay encrypted as the document metadata includes protection settings.
Limiting internal communication between certain user groups
SharePoint Online is soon going to support Office 365 information barriers that will be helpful in preventing certain user groups from communicating and sharing documents with each other with the organisation. For instance, there can be an information barrier between traders and brokers imposed by the bank. With the main aim to implement such barriers, information segments are created in the Microsoft 365 compliance centre. Then, the admin develops information barrier policies to block interaction and collaboration between these segments.
Setting expiration periods for the purpose of external access
To ensure external access to content, SharePoint is going to allow expiration periods. In this manner, companies will be capable of determining how long a link to SharePoint content can stay valid for external users. For instance, external access will be set for 30 days and then, the external user would lose its access to the SharePoint site after that period. However, the period of external access can be revoked and extended anytime as per the requirements of a business.
